Here’s the silver lining: any costs you rack up for making the switch to e-invoicing are now 120% tax-deductible. Curious which expenses make the cut? Keep reading to find out!
E-invoicing: what’s in a name?
⚠️ E-invoicing isn’t the same as digital invoicing. What’s the difference?
- Digital Invoice: This is a regular invoice you create in Word, Excel, or any invoicing software, or even one you scan and email to your client. Chances are, this is how you’ve been handling invoices up until now.
- Electronic Invoice: These are created and sent in a specific format (UBL) as XML files, using a secure network like Peppol. To send and receive e-invoices, you’ll need the right software.
And here’s the good news: the costs for this invoicing software, or any extra consultancy fees, are currently 120% tax-deductible!
E-invoicing software
To send and receive e-invoices, you’ll need invoicing software that supports e-invoicing.
The choice is yours when it comes to selecting the software. Subscription prices may vary, but one thing’s for sure: the costs are 120% tax-deductible.
💡Categorise your Accountable subscription as “e-invoicing software” in our app to claim the 120% deduction effortlessly.
Conditions for increased tax deduction
The increased tax deduction applies to consultancy and software costs specifically related to e-invoicing. Here’s what you need to know:
- This rule only covers e-invoicing software with a subscription model, like Accountable. A one-time purchase of accounting software doesn’t qualify for the 120% deduction.
- Both sole proprietors and companies can claim this enhanced deduction.
- This temporary benefit will end on January 1, 2028. Starting from the 2029 tax year, these costs will go back to being 100% tax-deductible instead of 120%.
💡Did you know? You can send and receive e-invoices even with Accountable’s free plan. Plus, your Peppol registration is completely free!
Consultancy costs
Seeking personalised advice from an accountant or bookkeeper regards e-invoicing? Good news: consultancy costs are also temporarily 120% tax-deductible. Take advantage of this opportunity while it lasts!
